Kumara’s backyard is the most popular beach on St. Barts—Saint Jean—but it somehow manages to maintain privacy. Nestled bungalow-style behind a small, wooden picket fence and some sweeping palm trees, guests are offered the option of staying at this luxury vacation villa in paradise with a little peace and quiet mixed in.
Villa Kumara is a one-story bungalow with whitewashed walls that reflect the white sand beach on which it is situated. The trim, roof, and storm shutters are a light, sea-glass blue. The sea-glass blue accents continue on Kumara’s interior, with bathroom tiling and glass, but the rest of the villa is spartan white and minimalist in structure, dressed in accent orchids, subtle driftwood, and dark appliances all placed to pleasing effect as in feng shui.
This three-bedroom villa maintains two king-sized bedrooms and one room with two single bunk
beds, perfect for an intimate getaway with family or friends. Each room has a television and an en-suite bathroom, shower, and vanity. Each is air-conditioned with access to the exterior onto the pool terrace or into the gardens. The gardens are immaculate and feature elephant statuettes hunched in the dappled shade of palm and a brilliant Royal Poinciana. An outdoor seating area on the lawn in the shade of the garden is the perfect place for afternoon tea or drinks, luxuriating in the tropical garden.
The main living space is a comfortable, uncluttered room with a large sectional that blends in with the bare whitewash, minimalist chic, welcoming in natural light. Guests can enjoy dining on the veranda just off the main living space or alfresco on the poolside terrace.
The pool is quite large, in-ground, and beachside making the transition from easy laps to snorkeling as smooth as your stay at Villa Kumara. A beach lounge is occupied by sofas and a hammock behind a very low wooden fence placed directly in the sand so guests may enjoy this immaculate white sand beach in privacy. Kayak and boat rentals are directly off property and can be arranged by our complimentary concierges, who can help to arrange travel to and from the airport as well as in-villa spa treatments, on-site chefs and/or caterers, and many other activities.

While available for advanced requests, the concierge team connects with guests 30 days prior to arrival to coordinate arrivals and to reserve desired services and experiences. Guests with scheduled Christmas/New Year stays will be contacted 90 days prior to arrival.
For example, a 5 bedroom villa that offers a 3 bedroom rate will be the exclusive use of the guest but two bedrooms and their en-suite bathrooms will be locked off. Capacity is capped at 2 guests per bedroom.
Once a reservation is confirmed, a concierge will welcome you to the planning stages of your vacation to assist with arrival logistics, rental cars, transfers, and a host of concierge services.
The arrival procedures due vary from villa to villa, select villas may include welcome provisioning while other properties will provide basic arrival information.
